Alison Kent

Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer

I have now been the longest serving Clerk for Pewsey, having joined in May 2005. I can genuinely say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this varied role and being part of a very special community. No two days are ever the same, from dealing with allotments to public toilets, being a landlord for sports clubs to owning car parks and nature reserves. There is a lot to life as a Council Clerk and while sometimes it can be extremely challenging, it has also been rewarding.

The people that volunteer to be Councillors have many skills to offer, even if only through their life experiences and each give their time freely and willingly. Whether past or present, they have all been great people to work with as well as the contractors and organisations I have met along the way.

The majority of my spare time is spent playing my clarinet or saxophone in local, amateur orchestras and music ensembles. I also have my dog to keep me busy.
