Table Tennis for Free – Now Ready to Play!

The new outdoor table tennis table by the Easterton Road playground (just behind the football field) is now up and running.

The table has been cleaned down, signage is in place, and bats and balls are available to borrow from the kiosk in the Co-op. If you don’t have your own, you can hire a set for a £5 refundable deposit.

Whether you’re young or just young at heart, it’s a great way to enjoy a friendly game in the spring sunshine. So find a friend, grab some bats, and get playing!

Please remember:

  • Return the bats and balls to the Co-op after use, so others can enjoy the game too.

  • If others are waiting, be considerate and keep games fair and timely.

Let’s make this a well-used and well-loved village facility.

Recreation Ground – Easterton Lane

Purchased by the Parish under the Physical Training and Recreation Act 1937, the Recreation Ground is a well-loved community space. It is home to:

  • Pewsey Tennis Club

  • Pewsey Vale Bowls Club

  • Pewsey Vale Football Club

The grounds also include a children’s playground, a mini training cycle road, and open space for general use and relaxation.

Hospital Playing Pitches – Wilcot Road

Located opposite the Angela Yeates Memorial Ground, these playing fields were once part of Pewsey Hospital. They have been used for recreational purposes for many years and were formally transferred to Parish Council ownership in 2012 under Wiltshire Council’s Community Assets Transfer scheme.

Since 1997, the fields have been leased by Pewsey Vale Youth Football Club, which provides high-quality coaching for boys and girls aged 5 to 18. With over 140 player members, the club competes in the North Wilts Youth Football League.

The Parish Council has also helped support the club’s development, including assisting with funding for a new pavilion and storage unit using S.106 developer contributions.
