The Scotchel
The Scotchel Nature Reserve, which is located in the village between Broomcroft Road and Buckleaze Lane is owned, managed and maintained by Pewsey Parish Council. The land was bequeathed to Pewsey in 1982 by Miss Middlemass. It has since been developed into a nature reserve and trail. The River Avon meanders through the Scotchel and a public footpath runs along side the river.
Much loved and well used the Scotchel can be a quiet, peaceful place. It can also be busy when annual events are held there.
Local residents and Parish Councillors carry out day to day maintenance. The Parish Council also appreciate and thank those people who love this area and try and keep the Scotchel litter free by regularly picking up others people rubbish.
