PCAP
Pewsey Community Area Partnership
Pewsey Parish Council, is actively involved in the Pewsey Community Area Partnership (PCAP) through individual Parish Councillors and issues discussed at Council meetings.
PCAP is an independent and autonomous group and has a voluntary relationship with Wiltshire Council and public agencies and helps to form the basis of a strong, resilient and empowered Pewsey Area Community. The Pewsey Community Area is made up of the following parishes (26 parishes, 24 Parish Councils in total, * indicates where parishes have combined):
Alton, Beechingstoke, Burbage, Buttermere, *Charlton and Wilsford, Chirton & Conock, Easton, Grafton, Great Bedwyn, Ham, Little Bedwyn, Manningford, Marden, Milton Lilbourne, North Newnton, Patney, Pewsey, Rushall, Shalbourne, Stanton St Bernard, Upavon, *Wilcot & Huish (with Oare), Woodborough, Wootton Rivers.
Working with local groups, Parish Councils, businesses and Wiltshire Council, through the Pewsey Area Board, PCAP strives to resolve issues and make changes for the better.
PCAP meets quarterly and it is a meeting where Parish Councils, Wiltshire Council and other interested organisations are invited to take part. Projects and other actions are generated by the meeting and are monitored through the PCAP plan and through a quarterly Parish Council Issues Report.
PCAP has a committee covering such things as the Environment, Education, Housing & Development, Transport, Crime & Community Safety, Culture, Heritage, Leisure and Tourism, the Economy and Health and Social Care.
PCAP is responsible for a number of active groups who hold regular meetings in order to achieve the objectives of PCAP, which are currently:
· Pewsey Area Crime & Community Safety (PACCS)
· Pewsey Vale Dementia Awareness Group (PVDAG)
· Pewsey Community Area Highways & Streetscene Group (PCAHSG)
· Pewsey & Devizes Connect2 Bus Review Group
· Pewsey Vale Tourism Partnership
Representatives of PCAP will also attend meetings with other organisations.
