The Scotchel

The Scotchel Nature Reserve, which is located in the village between Broomcroft Road and Buckleaze Lane is owned, managed and maintained by Pewsey Parish Council. The land was bequeathed to Pewsey in 1982 by Miss Middlemass. It has since been developed into a nature reserve and trail. The River Avon meanders through the Scotchel and a public footpath runs along side the river.

Much loved and well used the Scotchel can be a quiet, peaceful place. Local residents, Parish Councillors and contractors carry out day to day maintenance.

Pewsey Avon River Restoration Group (PARR) have initiated planting in the river and along the riverbanks to increase biodiversity in this area

The Parish Council also appreciate and thank those people who love this area and try and keep the Scotchel litter free by regularly picking up others people rubbish.
